Valentine's Day Breakfast Recipe

 Make Heart Shape Pancakes for
Breakfast or Brunch on Valentine's Day!

This Valentine's Day Breakfast Recipe makes Heart Shape Pancakes with optional raspberries, a special breakfast or brunch idea for your Valentine.

I used a purchased pancake mix (450 gram size box), but you can also make your own pancake batter, using the pancake recipe suggested below.

Surprise your Valentine with a very specail breakfast or brunch!

Ingredients

FOR THE PANCAKES

1 pkg. (450 gram size, approx.) pancake mix (purchased) and the ingredients required as per the pancake mix directions.

OR Use this Raspberry Pancake Recipe

1 cup fresh raspberries

4" heart shaped cookie cutter

FOR THE RASPBERRY SYRUP

3/4 cup seedless red raspberry jam

3 tbsp. maple syrup

Directions

FOR THE PANCAKES

Prepare the pancake batter as per the package instructions.

Gently, being careful not to break them too much, fold in the fresh raspberries.

Grease and heat the griddle over low heat.

Pour about 1/3 cup batter on hot griddle.

Bake until bubbles break over the surface, turn and brown on the other side until almost brown, then, using a 4" cookie cutter, cut the pancake into a heart, discarding the excess batter. Remove from griddle when pancake is browned.

Repeat for remaining batter.

SYRUP DIRECTIONS

In a small microwaveable bowl, stir the raspberry jam and the maple syrup together to combine.

Heat in the microwave at medium-high setting at 20 second intervals, stirring each time, until raspberry jam is melted.

Pour Raspberry Syrup over Heart Shaped Pancakes.
